The Daniel Defense DDM4 V7 Rifle in Cobalt is a semi-automatic 5.56 NATO rifle with a 16" Government profile cold hammer forged barrel, 1:7 twist, mid-length gas system on a low profile gas block and a free-floating MFR 15.0 M-LOK rail, built as Daniel Defense’s California Compliant configuration with a Magpul PMAG 10-round magazine.
The V7 is the baseline against which other AR-15s get measured. A mid-length gas system puts the gas port further from the chamber than a carbine system, lowering port pressure and delaying unlocking slightly, so the rifle recoils flatter and wears its bolt and carrier more slowly. The 16" Government profile barrel keeps full velocity and holds enough steel under the gas block to stay predictable through a long string.
