Product Description

The Daniel Defense Picatinny Bipod Adapter is a bipod mounting adapter for a Daniel Defense handguard that presents a sling swivel stud, allowing bipods with sling swivel stud mounts to be fitted to an AR-pattern rifle. Daniel Defense has discontinued this bipod adaptor.

The problem it solves is a mismatch of standards. Most field bipods are built for the swivel stud on a bolt-action forend, while an AR handguard offers slots or a rail. An adapter bridges the two with one small part at the front of the handguard, so the bipod you already own fits without a rail section and a rail-clamp bipod head.

One thing on this part number needs settling by phone rather than by a web page. Daniel Defense has offered this bipod adaptor across more than one handguard attachment standard, and KeyMod, M-LOK and Picatinny interfaces do not interchange. Rather than print a fitment we cannot stand behind, we will confirm it against your rail before an order goes in – and we will not state material, finish or weight for this SKU either.

Key Facts

  • Manufacturer Part Number / SKU: 03-141-10324

Getting the interface right

Look at your handguard, not your rifle model. KeyMod slots are keyhole-shaped; M-LOK slots are plain rounded rectangles; a Picatinny surface has square recoil grooves. That is what the adapter has to match, and it is a thirty-second check. Tell us what you see on 817-393-4000 and we will point you at the correct part number. Our bipod adapters section lists what we carry, with rail and handguard accessories and the wider Daniel Defense products range alongside.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What bipods will this adapter take?

A: Bipods with sling swivel stud mounts – the Harris-pattern swivel stud that most field bipods use. The adapter’s job is to present that stud on a handguard that does not have one, so a bipod designed for a hunting rifle’s forend stud can be fitted to an AR-pattern rail.

Q: Which handguard attachment standard does this part number use?

A: This is the one thing to confirm before you order, and we will not guess. Daniel Defense has offered its bipod adaptor for more than one handguard attachment standard, and KeyMod, M-LOK and Picatinny interfaces are not interchangeable. Call 817-393-4000 with your rail model and we will match the part number.

Q: Is this adapter still in production?

A: No – Daniel Defense has discontinued this bipod adaptor, so it is not a current catalog item. As a Daniel Defense master dealer we can still place an order against the part number. Call 817-393-4000 and we will tell you honestly where it stands rather than promise anything.

Q: How is it different from the M-LOK Bipod Adapter you also list?

A: The M-LOK Bipod Adapter is specified for M-LOK rail systems, including the Daniel Defense MFR Rail, and its material, finish and weight are published. This part number is the one whose attachment standard should be confirmed by phone. Both present a sling swivel stud for the bipod.

Q: What is it made of and what does it weigh?

A: We are not stating material, finish or weight for this part number. Daniel Defense’s bipod adaptors are light, sub-ounce aluminium parts, but we will not attach a specific figure to this SKU without confirming it. Call 817-393-4000 and we will get you the numbers.

Q: Do I need a full-length rail to run a bipod?

A: No. A bipod adapter exists precisely so you do not – it gives you a single mounting point at the front of the handguard instead of a rail section plus a rail-mount bipod. That keeps weight and bulk down on a handguard you otherwise want to keep slim.
