Product Description

Update, October 9, 2026: ATF no longer requires a Form 4, tax stamp, fingerprints or registration for suppressors, short-barreled rifles, short-barreled shotguns or AOWs. They now transfer on a standard Form 4473 with a background check. Anything below that mentions a Form 4, a wait or a tax stamp was written before this change. What changed

The Dead Air Armament Odessa Suppressor is a black steel suppressor with a fixed 1/2×28 mount. It comes from Dead Air Armament and carries manufacturer part number DD111.

The fixed mount is the main thing to know. Instead of a quick-attach system, this suppressor is made to thread directly onto a barrel or muzzle device cut for 1/2×28. If your host firearm already has that thread, the Odessa fits the way it is meant to. If it does not, you will need a threaded barrel before you can use it.

The body is steel with a black finish. Steel is a common choice for suppressor builds, and the black coating keeps the look plain and low-key on most setups.

Who it suits

This model suits a shooter who wants a simple, permanent-style mount and does not plan to swap the suppressor between many firearms. It also fits anyone building a suppressed setup around a barrel that is already threaded 1/2×28.

Good gear to pair with it includes a host firearm or barrel threaded 1/2×28, quality hearing protection, and a cleaning kit for the host firearm. Check that your barrel’s thread and muzzle setup match before you order. Because a suppressor is an NFA item, the transfer goes through an FFL/SOT dealer with the required paperwork.

Buying a suppressor now: a Form 4473 and a background check. No Form 4.

Since October 9, 2026, ATF no longer requires a Form 4, tax stamp, fingerprints, photos or registration to buy a suppressor. It transfers like any other firearm: you fill out a Form 4473, pass a NICS background check, and it is yours. No months-long wait.

  • Texas buyers: suppressors are legal under Texas law. Western Sport has been an SOT / Class III dealer since 2007.
  • Outside Texas: we ship to an SOT dealer in your state, who completes the 4473 with you. Your state’s law still decides — some states ban suppressors, and some only allow ones registered with ATF.
  • Want it registered anyway? ATF still accepts a voluntary Form 4. Ask us.
