Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Will Hornady 7.62×39 SUB-X work in my standard rifle?

A: Yes, this ammunition functions in all standard 7.62×39 firearms. However, subsonic loads cycle best in suppressed systems and direct-impingement rifles. Additionally, piston-driven rifles handle subsonic ammunition reliably.

Q: What makes subsonic ammunition quieter than standard rounds?

A: Subsonic loads use heavier bullets at reduced velocities, staying below the sound barrier of approximately 1,125 feet per second. Furthermore, they produce significantly less noise, especially when paired with suppressors. As a result, hearing protection becomes unnecessary for suppressed shooting.

Q: Is Hornady ammunition backed by a warranty in Texas?

A: Yes, Hornady stands behind their products with quality assurance standards. Additionally, Western Sport supports all manufacturer guarantees on ammunition. Contact us immediately if you experience any defects or performance issues.
