The Primary Arms PLxC 1.5-12×36 is a first focal plane rifle scope with 1.5-12x magnification and a 36mm objective. It comes from the PLx line, which Primary Arms builds in Japan around ED (Extra-Low Dispersion) glass. The maker describes the image as flat and bright, with clear edges and good color.
What sets it apart
The reticle is the illuminated ACSS Griffin MIL Gen II. It uses red dot bright diffractive reticle technology, and the dot size is 0.1 MRAD. Illumination is motion-sensing, so the scope responds to movement. The elevation turret is user-configurable. The scope is waterproof, shock resistant and fog resistant. It weighs 19.67 oz and has a matte black finish.
The magnification range is the main draw. Run it at the low end when you need speed at close range. Turn the power up when the target is farther away and you need to place a careful shot. That makes it a fit for shooters who want a single scope to cover both jobs instead of swapping optics.
Plan the rest of the setup around the rifle you intend to mount it on. Pair it with a quality mount or rings, and check clearance for the 36mm objective before you pick mounting height. Lens covers are a sensible add-on to protect the glass.
