Product Description
Remington Core-Lokt Pointed Soft Point 7mm Rem Mag ammo is a centerfire rifle load with a 140 gr bullet and a muzzle velocity of 3175 fps. Each box holds 20 rounds. The Mfr part number is 28821.
The bullet is a Core-Lokt Pointed Soft Point. That means a pointed nose with an exposed lead tip, a design built for hunting rather than for paper punching. The 140 gr weight is on the lighter side for this caliber, which is how it reaches that velocity out of the muzzle.
This load suits hunters who already own a bolt-action or semi-auto rifle chambered in 7mm Rem Mag. It will not work in any other chambering, so check the barrel stamp on your rifle before you order. It also makes sense for anyone who wants a straightforward soft point round to sight in a rifle and carry afield.
What to pair with it
A good rifle scope with solid mounts matters with a magnum cartridge. A padded sling, a shooting rest or bipod, and ear protection for the range all help. A rifle case and a cartridge belt or ammo carrier keep your rounds organized in the field. Hunters who reload may also want to save their fired brass.
