Why is .45 ACP ideal for suppressor use?
.45 ACP has a muzzle velocity of roughly 850–950 fps with standard ball ammunition — well below the speed of sound (approximately 1,125 fps at sea level). Because the bullet travels subsonically by default, there’s no supersonic crack — one of the two main noise sources that suppressors cannot eliminate. The suppressor only has to address the muzzle blast, which it handles very effectively. This gives .45 ACP some of the best suppressed performance of any pistol caliber with standard ammunition, no specialty loads required.
What thread pitch does the MODX-45 use?
