Taurus USA Raging Hunter .460 S&W Mag Revolver, 5.125″ Barrel, 5-Round

Product Description

The Taurus USA Raging Hunter is a double-action .460 S&W Mag revolver with a 5.125″ ported barrel. It holds 5 rounds and uses an external hammer, so you can fire it double action or thumb the hammer back for a single-action shot.

This is a big revolver built around a big cartridge. It weighs 55 oz and measures 10.85″ overall. That weight is useful when you are shooting a magnum round, because it gives the gun some mass to work against. The barrel is ported, which vents gas at the muzzle and is meant to help manage muzzle rise. The black finish and the sights, fixed and adjustable, round out the setup. The grips are rubber with a cushioned insert, which gives your hand a bit more padding.

Who it suits

The Raging Hunter fits handgun hunters who want a magnum revolver with a shorter barrel than the long-tube hunting guns. It also suits shooters who enjoy big-bore range sessions and want a revolver with an external hammer and a 5-round cylinder.

For gear, start with a sturdy holster sized for a large-frame revolver. A chest or shoulder rig works well in the field. Add hearing and eye protection, since a ported magnum is loud and throws blast to the sides. Speedloaders or ammo carriers, a padded rest or shooting bag, and a revolver cleaning kit with the right bore brush for the caliber will round out the kit.
