Product Description

The Weatherby Vanguard S2 Sporter is a bolt-action rifle chambered in .223 Rem with a 24″ barrel. It is a plain, well-finished field rifle with a matte blue finish and a checkered walnut Monte Carlo stock. Length of pull is 13.5″ and overall length is 44″.

The barrel is cold hammer-forged in a #2 Contour with a 1:9″ twist. The muzzle is threaded 1/2×28, so the rifle is suppressor ready. The bolt body is fluted, the trigger is an adjustable 2-stage, and the safety has 3 positions. Weatherby backs the rifle with its SUB-MOA Guarantee.

Who it suits

This rifle fits shooters who want a .223 for varmints, predator calls, or steady range work. The magazine holds 5+1 rounds and uses a hinged floorplate, so you unload from the bottom of the action. The Monte Carlo comb gives a solid cheek weld behind a scope.

The rifle has no sights, but it is drilled and tapped. Plan on a scope, rings, and bases to match. A sling and a bipod are natural additions for field use or bench work. If you plan to run a suppressor, pick one that mounts on a 1/2×28 thread. Add a few boxes of .223 Rem ammunition to find the load your rifle likes best.
