Winchester Repeating Arms 1873 Short Rifle Lever-Action Rifle, 534202140

Product Description

The Winchester Repeating Arms 1873 Short Rifle is a lever-action rifle chambered in .44-40 Win with a 20″ barrel. It holds 10 rounds and is built around a straight grip stock, which gives it the classic lever-gun profile.

The short barrel is what sets this model apart. At 20″, with a 39″ overall length and a weight of 7.4 lbs, it is easy to carry and quick to bring up. The length of pull is 13″. The barrel has a 1:26″ twist rate. The finish is Blue, BI-TONE, and the rifle is right-handed.

Sights and safety

The sights are a bead front and a semi-buckhorn rear. They are simple, fast to pick up, and suit the close to moderate ranges this rifle is made for. Safety is handled by the hammer.

This rifle suits anyone who likes traditional lever actions and wants a handier carry length. It fits cowboy-style shooting, casual range work, and hunting at modest distances. For gear, think about a sling or saddle-style carry option, a padded rifle case, a cleaning kit sized for .44-40 Win, ear and eye protection, and a safe for storage at home. Pick up .44-40 Win ammunition too, since it is not a common caliber to find in every store.
