The Browning X-Bolt 2 Target Competition is a bolt-action rifle chambered in 7mm Rem Mag, built around a 26″ free-floating, hand-chambered barrel. The barrel has a 1:9.5″ twist rate. Overall length is 46.75″, and the finish is matte black.
This rifle is set up for precision work. The trigger is adjustable, so you can tune it to your preference. The bolt has a short-throw 60 degree lift, which keeps cycling quick and leaves more room for your optic. The barrel is threaded M13x0.75 and comes with a muzzle brake in that same thread. Browning also lists the receiver as drilled and tapped. The safety is a tang design.
Stock and Feeding
The Vari-Tech stock carries the action. Rounds feed from a detachable rotary magazine that holds 3+1. The rifle has no sights, so plan on adding an optic before you head to the range or the field.
It suits shooters who want a 7mm Rem Mag for long-range target matches or big-game hunting. Good gear to pair with it includes a quality scope with matching bases and rings, a bipod or shooting rest, a sling, and extra magazines. Because the barrel is threaded, you can also swap the muzzle device for another that fits the same thread.
