Colt’s Manufacturing Anaconda is a double-action revolver chambered in .44 Rem Mag, with an 8″ barrel and a 6-round cylinder. The frame is American forged stainless steel with a semi-bright stainless finish. It uses an external hammer, so you can fire it in single action or double action.
What sets it apart
The sights are a red ramp front and an adjustable target rear, so you can set the point of impact for your load. The trigger breaks at 3.5 lb in single action and 8 lb in double action. Hogue rubber grips give you a soft, tacky hold. The revolver weighs 59 oz and measures 15″ overall, and that steel mass is a real help when you shoot full-power magnum loads.
This revolver suits shooters who like long-barrel handguns. The 8″ barrel gives you a long sight radius for careful target work. It also fits anyone who wants a stainless magnum revolver for hunting or steady range practice. It is a big handgun, so expect a full-size carry or a bench-and-range setup rather than concealed use.
Plan your gear around the size. A sturdy holster cut for an 8″ barrel revolver is the first item to look at. Add .44 Rem Mag ammunition, speedloaders or loading strips, a padded range bag, and quality eye and ear protection. A cleaning kit with a bore brush sized for .44 caliber will keep the stainless bore in good shape.
