Mossberg Patriot .243 Win Bolt-Action Rifle, 22″ Barrel, Silver

Product Description

The Mossberg Patriot .243 Win bolt-action rifle has a 22″ barrel and a silver Cerakote finish. It is a right-handed rifle with a black synthetic stock and a 4+1 round capacity.

What stands out

The silver finish sits against the black stock, so this rifle looks different from a plain black gun. The barrel has a 1:10″ twist rate. The rifle weighs 6.5 lbs and measures 42.25″ overall, with a 13.75″ length of pull. That makes it easy to carry on a walk and quick to bring to your shoulder. The safety is a two-position design.

This rifle has no iron sights. It comes set up with a scope base, so plan on mounting an optic before you head out. A scope is the main thing you will need to add.

The .243 Win is a common choice for deer-sized game and for varmint work, and it is a good round for newer rifle shooters. This Patriot suits a hunter who wants a lightweight bolt gun for the field. It also works for someone building a general-purpose rifle for the range.

For gear, start with a scope and rings that match the base. Add a sling for carrying, a bipod or shooting sticks for steadier shots, and a padded case for travel. Pick up a few boxes of .243 Win ammunition and see which load your rifle shoots best.
