The Sig Sauer 1911 SS is a full-size, single-action pistol chambered in .45 Auto, with a 5″ barrel and an 8+1-round capacity. The frame and slide are both stainless steel, and the grips are black wood. This one is California compliant.
It runs on a single stack magazine, and two magazines come with it. Overall length is 8.7″, and the pistol weighs 41.6 oz. It has an external hammer and a manual safety. The sights are Siglite on both the front and rear. An accessory rail sits on the frame, and the optic footprint is RMSc/K.
Who it suits
This is a good fit for shooters who like the feel of a full-size single-action .45. The 5″ barrel and stainless build suit range days, practice sessions and personal protection. Buyers in California who want a classic-style .45 will find the CA-compliant configuration useful.
For gear, start with a holster made to fit a full-size pistol with a rail. A weapon light can mount on the accessory rail. Extra single stack magazines, a range bag and a supply of .45 Auto ammunition round out the setup. If you plan to add a red dot, check that it matches the RMSc/K footprint.
