Question 1

Will the Vortex Strikefire II fit my AR-15?

Accepted Answer

The Strikefire II fits any AR-15 with a Picatinny or Weaver rail on the upper receiver. Most flat-top ARs accept this optic without modification. Order online at westernsport.com if you need help confirming rail type or discussing mount height.

Question 2

How does the Strikefire II compare to the Vortex Sparc?

Accepted Answer

The Strikefire II is a full-size red dot with a larger viewing window and longer body, while the Sparc is a compact micro red dot. The Strikefire II offers faster target acquisition and more forgiving eye relief. The Sparc saves weight and sits lower on the rail.

Question 3

Can I use the Strikefire II on a shotgun?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the Strikefire II works well on tactical shotguns and slug guns with a Picatinny rail. Red dots excel on shotguns for fast target transitions and both-eyes-open shooting. Make sure your shotgun has a rail that accepts the mount.

Question 4

Does the Strikefire II work for hunting?

Accepted Answer

The Strikefire II works for hunting inside ranges where the dot covers an acceptable portion of the vitals. Many hunters use red dots on deer rifles for shots inside 150 yards, on hog guns, and on brush rifles where speed matters more than magnification.

Question 5

Is the Vortex Strikefire II legal to buy in Texas?

Accepted Answer

Yes, optics and sights require no special paperwork or transfer process in Texas. You can order the Strikefire II just like any other firearm accessory. Western Sport is located in Roanoke and serves the DFW area.

Question 6

Can I mount the Strikefire II on an AK rifle?

Accepted Answer

The Strikefire II mounts to any firearm with a Picatinny or Weaver rail. If your AK has a side rail with a Picatinny adapter or a dust cover rail replacement, it will accept this optic. Order online at westernsport.com to discuss AK optic mounts and compatibility.
