  • Single-stage: one clean break with almost no take-up. The default for fast shooting and competition.
  • Two-stage: a light first stage that builds to a wall, then a crisp break. Favoured for precision and hunting.
  • Drop-in (cassette): a self-contained unit in a metal housing that drops into the lower as one piece. Easiest to install and adjust.
  • Mil-spec: individual components to military spec, typically a 5.5 to 6.5 lb pull. Reliable and cheap.
  • Forced reset (FRT): resets the trigger for you, so follow-up shots come as fast as you can press. See our forced reset triggers.
  • How you get it: triggers are not firearms — they ship straight to your door, no FFL needed.

Looking for a forced reset trigger? Forced reset selectors (“super safeties”) such as the Ambi 3-Position Forced Reset Selector and the Atrius line, the TX22 FRT and drop-in FRTs are all in our forced reset triggers category. New to them? Read how forced reset triggers work.

Brands we carry

Timney Triggers, TriggerTech, Rise Armament, CMC Triggers, Geissele Automatics, Hiperfire, Apex Tactical, Wilson Combat, Sons of Liberty Gun Works, Tyrant CNC, True Precision, Ghost Inc., LBE Unlimited and Glock OEM — deep enough that we usually hold several pull weights and blade shapes in the same model line, not just one SKU per brand.

Flat or curved

A flat blade puts your finger lower on the trigger, which lengthens the lever and makes the same spring feel lighter and more consistent — that, not the shape itself, is why competition shooters prefer it. A curved blade self-centres your finger and suits a rifle you shoot from varied positions or with gloves. Neither is more accurate on paper; pick by how your finger actually sits.

Picking a pull weight

Duty and defensive rifles are usually happiest at 4 to 5 lbs — light enough to shoot well, heavy enough to be safe under stress. Precision and competition builds go to 2.5 to 3.5 lbs. Below that you want a two-stage, so the first stage gives you somewhere to rest your finger. Check the housing style too: drop-in cassettes need a lower receiver without a relief cut, and some mil-spec lowers have one.

Pistol triggers

Glock, Smith & Wesson M&P and Sig P320 triggers are a different job: you are usually after a shorter reset and a cleaner wall rather than a lighter pull. Apex Tactical, Tyrant CNC, True Precision and Ghost Inc. cover most of that work here.

Also in the lower

A trigger swap is often done alongside a lower parts kit, and the rifle trigger range lists the AR-specific options on their own. Not sure a trigger fits your lower? Send us a message with the receiver make and we will tell you before you order.
