Choosing the right super safety
Start with your platform. On an MP5-pattern gun (HK SP5, PTR 9, Century AP5, POF-5, MAC-5) the super safety lives in the trigger housing, so you want a complete lower such as the Lee Sporting LS5 MP5 super safety lower, matched to your gun’s size (full size or K) and front pin style (shelf or push pin). On an AR-15, a 3-position forced reset selector replaces the safety selector, or you can step up to a full forced reset trigger.

Super safety lowers and forced reset selectors, shipped to your door. A super safety adds a third selector position that uses the bolt’s travel to reset the trigger forward after every shot. The trigger still fires one round per pull, but the reset happens far faster than your finger can manage on its own. - MP5 owners: the Lee Sporting LS5 MP5 super safety lower is a complete, assembled trigger housing with a D2 super safety, slip trip, straight trigger and polished hammer. It comes in full size or K, for HK, PTR and push-pin clones such as the Century AP5, POF-5 and MAC-5.
- AR-15 owners: a forced reset selector replaces your safety selector instead of the whole trigger. Choose the Atrius Forced Reset Selector (single-sided), the Atrius Mil-Spec Ambi, the Atrius G-Lever for Geissele SSA, SSA-E and G2S triggers, or the Ambi 3-Position Forced Reset Selector. - Complete versus parts kit: a super safety only runs when the hammer profile, slip trip and selector are timed to each other. Buying a complete lower avoids sourcing those from three makers and tuning them yourself.

What is the best MP5 lower for a super safety?
Buy a lower built for it from the start. The Lee Sporting LS5 is an aluminum MP5 trigger housing that takes AR-pattern fire control parts, which is why it is the common choice for super safety builds. Ours comes assembled, so it is ready to fit to your gun.
Which Lee Sporting variant fits my gun?
Full size HK fits the HK SP5 and 94. Full size PTR fits PTR 9C, 9CT, 9R, 9RS, 9CL and SDM. Full size push pin fits the Century AP5, POF-5, MAC-5 and Zenith ZF-5. K HK fits the SP5K, SP5K-PDW and SP89, K PTR fits the PTR 9KT, and K push pin fits the Century AP5P, MAC-5K and Zenith ZF5 K-series. The full chart is on the product page.
Can you put a forced reset trigger in an MP5?
Not a drop-in AR forced reset trigger. On the MP5 platform the same effect comes from a super safety lower with a slip trip, like the Lee Sporting LS5 above.
